Went Go Karting with some friends from a local motorcycle message forum http://www.cmgonline.com I didn't win but I had a blast running around the indoor track with friends. As usual you can find more pictures on my personal site http://www.intruderalert.ca Hopefully two more months will see favourable weather for everyday riding once again

As mentioned in my last entry Friday the 13th is a big deal for motorcyclists. It's a huge deal when we can attend on our bikes and ride in January. Here is a preview of a little story I wrote and uploaded to my website over at http://www.intruderalert.ca

Who would have thought that we would have a chance to ride in January???For the unitiated, Friday the 13th is a major event for motorcyclists in Southern Ontario. Back in 1981 Chris Simmons and a few friends gathered in a small town on the shores of Lake Erie; Port Dover and made a plan to get together whenever there was a Friday the 13th. That initial event has grown as two friends told two friends, who told two friends and on and on it went. Now Friday the 13th is a big event in the warmer months as motorcyclists converge on Port Dover in the tens of thousands, and a smaller event whenthe 13th happens to fall in those cooler months we call winter!!!

Well today is Friday the 13th. To those in the motorcycle community in Southern Ontario it's a special day. Back in 1981 Chris Simmons and a bunch of friends got together and vowed to get together every Friday the 13th from then on. Well they told two friends who told two friends and now thousands of motorcyclists from all over decend on Port Dover. In the winter the crowds are smaller, but this year it looks like the weather gods will be co-operating. Forecasted temps in the low 40's with a chance of showers. I do believe I'll be taking the Wee Strom for it's first ride of 2006. I'll have some more info and some pictures in the next couple of days.
If you want more info on Friday the 13th in Port Dover Ontario, check http://www.pd13.com

Attended the bike show in Toronto this past weekend and managed to sell one bike to a gentleman who traded in a KLR for a DL650.
It's amazing how many people figure a bigger bike will help them compensate for a lack of skills. Buy a smaller bike, learn to ride, ride it well and spank the boys on the bigger machines. Anyone can go fast in a straight line, but the twisties seperate the squids from the riders.

A Few Thoughts
Why do we bookmark pages in our browsers and never go back??? I must have over 1500 pages on the WWW bookmarked and I bet the majority have never seen a second visit. Time to do some housecleaning I think. My Fav links will most likely end up here :o)

Ever purchase a new calender and have the dates wrong??? One of my new Calenders for 2006 has the dates for the month of January wrong. According to this one January 1st was a Tuesday :o(

Been fighting a cold since just before the new year & just want the feckin thing to be done with.

The second of 4 Bike Shows takes place this weekend in Toronto

Another weekend of teaching is just about here. Have retests tonight and will try and follow the Leafs Hockey Game online when I get home. Teams are getting greedy IMNSFHO when you have to get a subscription to watch a game
